Mission Statement
The Ontario Sheep Marketing  Agency is a producer run organization which represents all aspects of the sheep, lamb and wool industry in the province. It was established to enhance producers' returns and provide consumers with safe, premium lamb and related products by encouraging Ontario sheep producers to provide a quality, year-round product through ongoing marketing, promotion, advocacy, and education.

History
The Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency was formed in May of 1985 under the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Act. The request for the founding of such an Agency arose from the former provincial sheep organization, the Ontario Sheep Association.

Membership
As a requirement of the regulations, all producers of sheep and/or wool in Ontario are required to register with the Agency. Upon registration, the member receives a producer card and number and is then eligible to vote at district meetings.

The Province is divided geographically into eleven(11) electoral districts. Each district elects a Provincial Director to represent them on the Board for a three year term. Each district also elects a District Chairman, District Secretary and District Directors to administer the activities within the district.

Annual Convention and Business Meeting
The Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency's Annual Meeting is held each year in late fall. For every thirty (30) registered producers in a district, the district elects one (1) voting delegate to be in attendance at this annual meeting. He or she represents the district during voting procedures. All producers may attend and participate in the discussions.
